DAY ONE

Welcome To Chile

NO RIDE DAY


Bienvenidos a Chile!

We will meet riders in Santiago. If you are flying from NZ,  you will arrive around 1.30pm.

From there we will catch a short flight to Concepcion for the start of the tour. On arrival at Concepcion in Chile’s Bio Bio region we will transfer all riders to the hotel in the city.

Once we’ve arrived we will put bikes together followed by our first team dinner and run-through of the plan for the next 12 days.

Meals Included: Dinner and welcome drinks.

DAY TWO

The First Ride

CONCEPCION > NACIMIENTO


After a good breakfast the bus will take us to San Pedro. Here we’ll set off on our first ride, traveling alongside the famous Bio Bio river via an almost flat valley for around 43 km before entering the valley. From here the road is rolling with a couple of short hills before we get to Nacimiento.

Non-riders will be taken on the bus direct to Nacimiento where they can explore the town. After everyone arrives in Nacimiento, we take the bus to our hotel in Los Angeles, a distance of 30km.

DAY THREE

The Queen Stage

LOS ANGELES > ANTUCO


Today is your first “Queen stage” of the tour, we’ll ride from Los Angeles to the bottom of Vulcan Antuco, a ride of almost 83km long climbing from 140 meters above sea level to 1098 meters above sea level, a fantastic ride with beautiful scenery into the Andes, for most of the false flat ride all you see in front of you in the beautiful Vulcan Antuco.

At the end of today’s ride we will travel in bus to the Laguna del Laja near the Chile-Argentina border and with a little good luck, we will get the chance to see the Andean condor, a South American bird found in the Andes mountains and adjacent Pacific coasts of western South America, the Andean condor is the largest flying bird in the world by combined measurement of weight and wingspan. It has a maximum wingspan of 3.3 metres.

Later on the day we travel by bus to our hotel in Los Angeles to rest, check out the shopping and restaurants before dinner and preparation for tomorrows adventure.

DAY FOUR

Pehuenche Territory

LOS ANGELES > RALCO NATIONAL RESERVE


The ride today is a combination of rolling hills with several short climbs during the second half of the ride, along the way we will ride alongside the Bio Bio river once again, this is beautiful country side full of Chilean native trees.

After today’s ride we will stay in Ralco for the night to explore Ralco and have the chance to meet the Pehuenches, hear their story and sample a typical meal.

DAY FIVE

By The Bio Bio

RALCO NATIONAL RESERVE > LOS ANGELES


We’ll cycle from our hotel to Los Angeles by the same route as the previous day. After cycling and back at the hotel you will have the evening free to sample some of the local restaurants.

DAY SIX

Fertile Land

NO RIDE DAY


After four days of hard cycling is time for you to have a rest, after breakfasts we will travel to the city of Chillan, a distance of approximate 110km, after our arrival at the hotel you will have the rest of the day free to explore Chillan market and Restaurants.

Evening at leisure. Ask our guides if you need some local knowledge about dining and good shopping.

DAY SEVEN

Into The Sky

CHILLAN > LAS TERMAS


Today we will cycle to the ski resort Termas de Chillan, this is located 1,650 meters above sea level. This beautiful ski center, one of the most complete in the country, its 82 kilometres away from Chillán and it is surrounded by an environment of native forests, with nice mountain style hotels, spa services, hot spring pools and restaurants.

DAY EIGHT

The Countryside

CHILLAN > COIHUECO > BUSTAMENTE > CHILLAN


After breakfast we will ride into the flattest countryside of the Chillan region, heading towards Coihueco, a small country town near Chillan. After the ride you will have more time to explore the city, the market and restaurants.

DAY NINE

Wine Time

CHILLAN > COELEMU > GUARILIHUE


Today we travel to the wine region of Guarilihue, this is a beautiful flat ride to yet another typical Chilean country town. We will stay at this accommodation for two days.

DAY TEN

Vineyard Trip

NO RIDE DAY


This morning we will travel by bus to a boutique winery, we will have a typical Chilean mid-morning breakfast followed by another typical country style Chilean lunch. In the afternoon we will explore the vineyards and taste their wine.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner.

DAY ELEVEN

Beach Town

NIPAS > COELEMU > TOME


Today a short, hard ride of approximate 67km from Nipas, Coelemu and to the beautiful beach of Tome, this small town of approximate 52.000 people is visited by more than 300.000 people during the summer months.

Meals: Breakfast, Dinner.

DAY TWELVE

Viva Tome

TOME > RAFAEL > TOME


Today we have a short ride to Rafael and back to Tome for lunch, the afternoon we explore the town, go to the beach and pack up for our flight to Santiago tomorrow morning.

Meals: Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner.

Tonights dinner will be special. For our last night together we have booked a restaurant especially for us and some invited guests. Your also have the opportunity to see a private show of one of the best Chilean traditional groups of the region, they will delight you with a show of the typical Chilean dance, make sure you bring your dancing shoes for a great night.

DAY THIRTEEN

To The Capital

NO RIDE DAY


The final day will be spent in Santiago, the capital of Chile. Here we will open up the day to allow you to explore on your own or alternatively we can organise a city tour.
